Lab Members & Researchers

Dr. Salehi is the director of the ROCC Lab, which combines optimization, computation, and system modeling to study real-world decision problems. The lab emphasizes hands-on learning and close student mentorship.

Katherine O’Roark studied Computing and Applied Mathematics at Saint Mary’s College and served as a lab assistant in the ROCC Lab. 

Her work focused on traffic flow and autonomous vehicle modeling.

Miah Hudson studied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering and completed her senior comprehensive project in robotics and control theory. Her work focused on control systems for autonomous drones.

Aliza Litvak studied Mathematics with a minor in French and worked in the ROCC Lab on the Talking Rock project, developing programming and data analysis skills for finance-related applications.

Anastacia Aguirre studied Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and worked on the Talking Rock project. She also served as a teaching assistant for computer programming labs.

Paloma Valdes studied Computing and Applied Mathematics and Computer Science in Notre Dame and worked in the ROCC Lab on Python-based projects involving real-world problem solving and image processing.

Paris Viviano studied Computing and Applied Mathematics and Computer Engineering in Notre Dame and worked in the ROCC Lab on robotics research involving sensor data, environment mapping, and learning-based decision making.

Emma Lombardo studied Computer Science and worked in the ROCC Lab on applied computing and systems-based projects, including the Pixel-Paw Mirror project. She also supported instruction as a teaching and lab assistant.

Ashleigh Niemczyk completed her senior comprehensive project in the ROCC Lab on GPS applications using numerical methods.

Aria Meyer studied Physics and Mathematics and worked in the ROCC Lab on robotics and embedded systems, using C/C++, Python, and hardware platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32.

Victoria Garcia Jimenez studied Mathematics and worked in the ROCC Lab on Python programming and Arduino-based projects, with a focus on smart housing applications.
